The Olive Tap Taps into Breast Cancer Fundraiser

A portion of the purchase of "Perfect Pairings" will be donated to the Lady Lifesavers team.

The Olive Tap in Long Grove has kicked off a "Perfect Pairings" fundraising promotion in support of the Lady Lifesavers, a team of local woman who are preparing for the Avon Breast Cancer Walk.

“We have been promoting what we call Perfect Pairings or well-established and popular oil and vinegar combinations since we opened in 2006,” said Rick Petrocelly, owner of The Olive Tap. These pairings are used as vinaigrettes on salads, and as marinades.

The Olive Tap will donate $3 to the Lady Lifesavers Avon Walk Breast Cancer Team for every “Perfect Pairing” sold through May 1. A new pairing will be offered each week.

Sharon Feld, team leader for the Lady Lifesavers, said the team aims to raise $30,000 this year. “With The Olive Tap’s generous support and promotion across its various marketing channels, we certainly feel we will be able to reach and even exceed our goal,” she said.

Feld and some of her teammates will greet shoppers at The Olive Tap on April 30 and May 1 during Long Grove’s Chocolate Festival.
