Kogan Named to Vernon Library Board

Edward Kogan has been appointed to fill a vacancy following a recent resignation.

The Board welcomed Vernon Hills resident Edward B. Kogan as a new trustee July 16. Kogan fills a vacancy on the board created in June by the resignation of longtime board member Elizabeth “Betty” Stover.

Kogan was selected from among the pool of prospective trustees who applied for a previous opening on the board; that vacancy was filled in March by . When Stover announced her resignation, the board decided to draw from that same pool of applicants to fill this position.

Kogan has more than 10 years of professional experience with corporate library informatics and in educational libraries, including the John Crerar Library at University of Chicago and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business Library. He serves as a volunteer at District 103’s Sprague and Half Day school libraries. He and his family are active patrons of the Vernon Area Public Library.
