Families Invited to Saturday's Health, Safety Fair

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Cooper Middle School.

Kids and their families are invited to attend a free Health and Safety Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 4 at .

Events will include more than 40 booths and information stations, a “touch-a-truck” area, a balloon artist and a variety of demonstrations for children and their families.

Demonstrations will include Language Stars Storytime (9:15 a.m.), Buffalo Grove Gymnastics (10 a.m.), Cook County Sheriff’s Police K-9 Unit (10:30 a.m.), and Language Stars Mini Olympica (11 a.m.).

“There are many hands-on activities for kids and the event should be a lot of fun,” said event sponsor State Rep. Sid Mathias. “At the end of the day we will also be doing a lot of giveaways, including a bike and helmet, a tennis racquet and tennis balls, a basketball, a football, a soccer ball and many other items.”

Participants will include Adoption Ark, the , the , the , Child & Family Connections, Chiro One Wellness, the Cook County Department of Highways, the Cook County Department of Public Health, the Cook County Farm Bureau, the Cook County Sherriff’s Police K-9 Unit, the Cook County
State’s Attorney’s Office, Fun With Music, , Juice Plus, , Language Stars, N.A.M.I. CCNS, Northwest CASA, Oberweis Dairy, the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, the Office of the Illinois Comptroller, the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, the Office of the Illinois Treasurer, PACE, S.I.D.S. of Chicago, , Sylvan Learning Center, the Arc of Illinois, United Way, Edward Jones, Weidner Septic Services, Inc, the Cook County Department of Homeland Security, and .
