School District 103 Reaches Tentative Teachers' Contract

The School Board is expected to ratify the contract Aug. 21.

The Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 Board of Education and the Lincolnshire-Prairie View Teachers' Association have reached tentative agreement on a new teachers' contract.

Throughout the summer, representatives from the School Board, district administration and association leadership team pursued a collaborative process called interest-based bargaining. The bargaining team explored the key issues and developed options to address them. The new tentative agreement seeks to recognize the role teachers have in educating students and to help ensure the long-term financial health of the district.

Specific terms of the agreement will not be disclosed until it is approved by the District 103 Teachers' Association and presented to the Board of Education for approval. The Board anticipates ratification of the agreement by the Teachers' Association after it is brought forward on Aug. 21
