Registration Continues with Early Voting

Lake County voters can update their information when they cast their ballots early.

The grace period registration for the April 5 Consolidated Election began March 9 and continues until the close of business on March 29 in the Lake County Clerk's office, 18 North County Street, Waukegan, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

During grace period registration, Lake County residents can register or update their voter registration address at the County Clerk's office and vote at the same time. New registrants must be U.S. citizens, residents of their precinct for 30 days immediately prior to Election Day, 18 years old on or before the election, and must provide two forms of identification.

Voter registration through deputy registrars will re-open on April 7, two days after the Consolidated Election, in accordance with election law. Voter registration applications made on the Illinois mail-in form that are received bearing a postmark after March 8 cannot be processed and will not be eligible to vote in the April election, but will be processed and become eligible voters after the April election.
