Need a Jolt? A Sixth Starbucks is Coming to Buffalo Grove

Trustees approved plans this week that will allow a drive-through facility at Plaza Verde.

Buffalo Grove officials paved the way for the village’s sixth Starbucks on Monday, when they signed off on a drive-through facility at the southwest corner of Dundee and Arlington Heights roads.

Starbucks will occupy one of the three restaurant spaces under construction at the site, which was . The other two restaurants will be Noodles & Co. and Moe’s Southwest Grill.

The Starbucks drive-through required tweaks to Plaza Verde’s parking lot, which will offer 493 parking spaces rather than the current 511. The changes, which also include a shorter set-back for the drive-through window and a 10-foot-wide landscaped yard rather than 25 feet, were unanimously approved by both the Plan Commission and Village Board.

The Village Board will be asked to approve signage for Starbucks on March 19, Deputy Village Manager Ghida Neukirch said. The coffee shop will occupy the far east portion of the building, closest to Arlington Heights Road.

The new Starbucks will join the chain’s five other locations in Buffalo Grove — , at the roads and inside the village’s three stores. The only other location with a drive-through is the shop at Buffalo Grove and Aptakisic.
