Many Local Races Unopposed in April Election
Some election candidates are guaranteed positions on local governing boards.
When voters head to the polls on April 9, they won’t have to decide who to choose in some races. The races for expired seats on the Buffalo Grove Park Board, District 214 School Board, Stevenson High School Board and Indian Trails Public Library Board are all uncontested.
The unopposed candidates are as follows.
Buffalo Grove Park District

No one filed to run for a fourth open seat on the library board. The position is currently held by Doris Wagner, who is not seeking re-election.
Vernon Area Public Library
- Ed Acuna (unopposed for a four-year partial term)
- Kim Smith (unopposed for a two-year partial term)
