Lake County Residents Invited to Vote by Mail

Primary election ballots will be mailed next month to those who request one in advance.

County Clerk Willard Helander encourages all Lake County registered voters who prefer to vote by mail in the March primary to visit LakeVoterPower.info and complete a fillable form titled "Application for Ballot."

Illinois law requires voters in each election to complete an application and return it to the Clerk's office before a ballot can be mailed. Ballots for the March primary will be mailed beginning Feb. 9, pending final ballot certification from the Illinois State Board of Elections. Requests for the application may also be made by contacting the Voting by Mail Department via e-mail at VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or by calling 847-377-2406.

Registered voters may also enroll in a permanent Voting by Mail Program. Voters in the program automatically receive an application for ballot for each election specified until the voter provides notification to cancel or the voter's registration becomes inactive.
