Buffalo Grove Water Meets Quality Standards

Buffalo Grove's drinking water met or exceeded federal and state standards in 2012, according to the village's latest water quality report.

The report, which is summarized in the attachment to this story, details where the water comes from, what it contains and how it measures up to the standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

While small amounts of lead, copper and other substances were detected, none were in violation of EPA standards, according to the report.
