Blagojevich Gets 14 Years

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was sentenced to 14 years in prison, the Huffington Post reported.

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was sentenced to 14 years in prison Wednesday, the Huffington Post reported.

Blagojevich was convicted of 18 charges related to corruption. Perhaps his most infamous crime involved his power to appoint a replacement to President Barack Obama's Senate seat. Blagojevich was convicted of using that power to try and extract campaign donations or a job, the Huffington Post reported.

"When it is the governor who goes bad, the fabric of Illinois is torn and disfigured and not easily repaired," said Judge James Zagel, according to the website.
