Police Blotter: Thefts, Battery

These were among the reports released April 22 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

ATTEMPTED THEFT

Someone entered a vehicle and peeled the steering column, in an attempt to start the ignition, while the car was parked between 6 p.m. April 20 and 8 a.m. April 21 on the 800 block of Trace Drive.

BATTERY

Nashon J. Davenport, 26, of the 1200 block of Deerfield Parkway, Buffalo Grove, was charged with domestic battery at 12:30 p.m. April 21.

THEFT

A resident reported that someone charged $350 to his son’s Xbox account between April 15-21. Microsoft and Harris Bank have been notified.

A manager at , 1160 West Lake-Cook Road, reported that a male customer left without paying for liquor at 6 p.m. April 21. Security tapes only showed the back of the subject.

Troy D. Petras, 23, of the 100 block of Grove Lane, Barrington Hills, was charged with retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a security officer at , 450 West Half Day Road, reported that a male customer placed merchandise in his clothing and left the store without paying at 3:50 p.m. April 21.
