Police Blotter: Teen Pawns iPhone, Employee Threatens Vet

ANIMALS

A resident found a stray male gray cat with white paws and white underbelly at 6:40 p.m. July 18 on Cobblestone Court. The cat did not have tags or chip and was taken to Kings Kennel.  

ASSAULT

Police said a complainant acted as middleman between an attorney and an acquaintance for immigration issues. The acquaintance gave money to the complainant to give to the attorney as a retainer. The acquaintance later changed her mind and wanted her money back. The acquaintance’s brother went to the complainant’s store at 4 p.m. July 18 on the 1600 block of Weiland Road demanding the money and making threats of bodily harm. All parties were advised that this is a civil matter, and the brother was advised not to return. 

COMPLAINT

A Buffalo Grove Park District official reported that two youths had climbed up onto the roof of the at 12:35 p.m. July 17. An officer located the youths who stated that they were attempting to retrieve their ball. The officer told the youths that they should talk to someone in the office before climbing the building. They agreed.  

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A employee reported that two youths took a park district golf cart and crashed it into a fence at 4:45 p.m. July 18 at . The fence was damaged and the steering wheel of the cart was broken off. No one could identify the youths and they were gone from the area when officers arrived. 

THEFTS

Alexander C. Killian, 18, of the 400 block of Buckboard Drive, Wheeling was charged with theft on July 18 following an incident at a home on the 1-100 block of Charles Court the previous day. Police said a resident reported that her sister invited a friend to the house and after they left, the resident realized that her iPod was missing from her bedroom. Police said an officer interviewed Killian who admitted taking the iPod and pawning it.

A complainant reported that she left her purse and iPhone on a table at 12:15 a.m. July 19 at . She walked away for a few moments, and when she returned, the phone was gone. The phone is valued at $400. 

THREATS

An official at  reported that an employee, who was stressed, threatened bodily harm to one of the veterinarians at 1 p.m. July 18. The employee then emptied her desk and left the building. An officer contacted the employee who stated that she was sorry about her gun comments and knew they were wrong. The employee will not return to the business.
