Police Blotter: Shopper Smears on Makeup, Asked to Leave

ALCOHOL

Jeffrey T. Arenson, 20, of the 2200 block of Avalon Drive, Buffalo Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, disregarding a stop sign, illegal lane use and driving without insurance at 2:20 a.m. Dec. 30 on northbound Milwaukee Avenue at Pekara Drive.

ANIMALS

A resident found a male pit bull wandering near Arlington Heights and Dundee roads. The brown-and-white dog had no collar, tags or chip. It was taken to Kings Kennel.

BURGLARY

An employee saw a white, four-door vehicle parked next to a company truck when he arrived at work at 6:10 a.m. Dec. 29 on the 1600 block of Barclay Boulevard. Believing the car to belong to another employee, the employee went inside. When a second employee parked his vehicle, he saw a man get into the white vehicle and drive off. The employee found the lock punched out on the rear door of the truck and numerous tools and equipment missing.

INVESTIGATION

An anonymous caller reported at 6 a.m. Dec. 30 that a person was at a residence and there is an order of protection prohibiting him to be there. Officers went to the home and spoke with the resident, who stated that the person was not there and there was no problem.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

A resident of the 200 block of Willow Parkway reported a green Dodge Ram truck driving through the cul de sac several times at 9:20 a.m. Dec. 29 The resident could not provide a license plate number. The area was checked with negative results.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A manager reported at noon Dec. 29 that there was a female shopper in the store who is suspected of stealing merchandise in the past. The woman had opened packaged makeup and smeared it on her face. An officer spoke with the woman, who said she understood that she was to leave and not return to the store.
