Police Blotter: Phone Threats, Damaged Car

ALARM

officers responded to an active alarm and found an unsecured door at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 8 on the 400 block of Stillwell Drive. There were no signs of forced entry and the interior was OK. The homeowner arrived while officers were there.

COMPLAINT

A male reported that a vehicle passed him and then stepped on the brakes at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at Buffalo Grove and Aptakisic roads. He stated that the other driver was probably mad at him for going too slowly. An officer spoke with the other driver who stated that the complainant was stopped in the roadway and when he passed, the complainant yelled an expletive at him. The complainant then kept following the other driver honking his horn. Both were admonished.

MISSING PERSON

A mother reported that her 9-year-old autistic son walked away from the house at 4:45 p.m. Sept. 8. Officers checked the area and found the boy walking on Buffalo Grove Road at Thompson Boulevard. The boy was reunited with his mom.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident of the 800 block of Stradford Circle reported damage was done to the rear quarter panel on the passenger side of her car at 5:55 p.m. Sept. 8. The resident does not know when, where or who caused the damage.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident of the 1000 block of Belmar Lane reported a silver sport utility vehicle that she did not recognize was parked in front of her home between noon and 9:30 p.m. Sept. 8. The resident received a lewd text message earlier in the day and believed that the vehicle might be connected with that. The vehicle was gone when the officer arrived. The officer will follow up.

THREAT

A Buffalo Grove attorney reported a threat Aug. 29 from a client who stated that the attorney was playing with fire and that he was No. 1 on the client’s list. An officer was unable to contact the client.

A resident reported receiving numerous phone calls on Sept. 8 from unknown callers who told the resident that he will be arrested for fraud. The resident stated that he applied for a loan online and believes that the calls are connected with that transaction.
