Police Blotter: Missing Wildlife Trap, Prospective Resident Thrown Out

These were among the reports released March 1 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

FOUND ITEM

A postal carrier turned in a found a cell phone that was found at noon Feb. 23 at Marseilles Circle and Toulon Drive.

A resident turned in a MB Financial check/currency bag that he found at the intersection of Harris Drive and Common Way at 7:25 a.m. Feb. 28. The bag belonged to a business in Mundelein. Its owner reported nothing missing.

NOISE COMPLAINT

A resident reported at 11:15 Feb. 28 that her upstairs neighbor plays music so loudly that she cannot hear her own television. An officer attempted to speak to the neighbor, but no one answered the door.

THEFT

A complainant reported that someone stole a wildlife trap, valued at $75, from the home of a resident on the 2800 block of Daulton Drive between Feb. 26-28.

A resident reported Feb. 26 that she received a package of merchandise that she did not order. The resident called the company and learned that the order was placed using the resident’s credit card. The credit card company will follow up.

A complainant reported that someone used a bank card to make an unauthorized $500 withdrawal on Feb. 26 in Buffalo Grove. Additional withdrawals were made in Northlake and Addison. The bank will follow up.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident of the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Drive reported that her neighbor followed her to her car at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 28, then pulled alongside her in his own car as they drove. The neighbor then began yelling at her. The resident did not roll down her window and could not hear what the neighbor was yelling. When the resident returned home, the neighbor was playing loud music and slamming doors. An officer attempted to contact the neighbor without success.

A resident of the 300 block of Satinwood Court North stated that she heard a scream that sounded like it came from a little girl at 9:05 p.m. Feb. 28. Officers walked the area and found nothing suspicious.

A leasing prospect became upset Feb. 28 when the unit he wanted to lease was already leased to another. The prospect yelled at the manager and pointed his finger into her face. The prospect was asked to leave the office, on the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive, a number of times. An officer spoke with the prospect, told him that he was no longer welcome on the property and that he would get a full refund of his money, including the application fee.
