Police Blotter: Mailbox Stolen; Missing Girl Got a Manicure

These were among the reports released April 26 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

ABANDONED VEHICLE

Police reported April 25 that a black 1990 Toyota has been parked on the 400 block of Regent drive since April 17. An officer attempted to contact the registered owner without success. A registered pre-tow letter was sent to the listed address.

ALARM

Officers responded to an active alarm at 8:55 a.m. April 25 on the 1600 block of Barclay Boulevard and found the front door unsecured. The interior was checked and found to be in order. An official of the company responded to secure the door.

ANIMALS

A resident stated that she found a brown-and-black long-haired cat on the 1800 block of Twin Oaks Boulevard. The cat had no tag or microchip. It was taken to King's Kennel.

BURGLARY

Someone smashed the passenger-side window of a vehicle and removed a laptop computer from the front passenger seat while the vehicle was parked at Lou Malnati’s between 6:30-8:10 p.m. April 25.

MISSING TEEN

A resident reported that his 14-year old daughter did not return home from school.  The girl returned home later and told the officer that she had gone to a nail salon with some of her friends.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported April 25 that her ex-boyfriend keeps calling and leaving messages on Facebook. The calls and messages are not threatening, and the resident just wanted the incidents documented.

THEFT

A resident of the 1300 block of Westchester Road reported that someone removed her mailbox between 7:30 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. April 25.
