Police Blotter: Lost Wallet, Truck Driver Lacks License

COMPLAINT

A complainant reported at 4:15 p.m. Nov. 5 that while he was driving eastbound on Dundee Road at Arlington Heights Road, another vehicle was swerving and nearly ran the complainant off the road. An officer contacted the other driver who denied driving recklessly. 

LOST PROPERTY

A resident reported losing his wallet between 4-6 p.m. Nov. 5. He last had it at Michael’s Chicago-Style Red Hots. The resident searched his car, his house and contacted the restaurant without success. The wallet was black and contained an Illinois driver’s license, Illinois state ID, two credit cards and a debit card. The resident was advised to cancel the cards. 

PHONE HARASSMENT

An employee of a grocery store in Buffalo Grove reported receiving a number of unwanted phone calls from a former employee of the same store between Nov. 3-4. An officer spoke with the former employee, who admitted to making the calls, but said he was unaware that his calls were not wanted. The former employee agreed to have no further contact with the employee. 

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

A resident of the 700 block of Old Checker Court reported that there was a scavenger outside making noise at 9:10 p.m. Nov. 5. The resident thought that it was too late for this activity and requested the officer ask that person to leave. An officer spoke with the driver of the truck and passed on the resident’s request. The driver stated that he understood. The officer then found that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license, and he was arrested and charged. 

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident who requested information and assistance with divorce proceedings on Nov. 4 was referred to the police social worker.
