Police Blotter: Footprints in Snow Arouse Suspicion

ALCOHOL

Cesar Lopez, 27, of the 1-100 block of Strong, Wheeing, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence/no driver’s license, speeding, driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license at 1:26 a.m. Feb. 7 on eastbound Dundee Road from Golfview Terrace.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENTS

Police responded to a report of a person who entered and exited the lobby of a building on the 900 block of East Deerfield Parkway multiple times between 7-9:05 a.m. Feb. 6. The person told the officer that he was visiting a family member who was working in the building. He apologized and left the area.

A resident of the 800 block of Ridgefield Lane reported that while investigating to see why his dog was barking at the back door around 9 p.m. Feb. 6, he discovered footprints in the snow. The path of footprints led to electric meters in several backyards. 

A resident of the 500 block of Harris Drive that he discovered footprints in the snow along the front of his house at 9:40 p.m. Feb. 6. The path of footprints led to the gas meter on each house along the street. 

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident brought old ammunition to the Buffalo Grove Police Department for destruction at 11:56 p.m. Feb. 6.

A resident reported that he discovered derogatory and untrue comments on a website between Dec. 9-12. Due to the content of the comments, police suggested that the resident contact his attorney.
