Police Blotter: Customer Escorted from Hotel After Gun Comment

COMPLAINT

A resident of the 1-100 block of Columbus Parkway reported Aug. 15 that his neighbor leaves his garbage on the resident’s property and has his trailer parked on the resident’s property. An officer attempted to contact the neighbor without success. A citation was issued to the neighbor for unsecured garbage. The Building and Zoning Department was notified about the property line dispute.

Police responded to a report at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 15 that a tenant at had been complaining that the guests above him were making noise at all hours of the night. The tenant was not satisfied with the efforts of management to reduce the noise. The tenant then told management that maybe he would go buy a gun the next day and shoot people. Officers stood by while the tenant packed his bags and he was escorted off the property.   

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident of the 2400 block of Madiera Lane reported that someone taped a letter to his front door between 2-5 p.m. Aug. 15. The letter contained a great deal of information about the resident’s family and included a picture of the resident’s daughter. The resident said that the only other person who knew the information was a neighboring boy. An officer spoke with the boy, and after lengthy conversation he stated that he put the notes on the door at first as a joke then it got out of hand. A juvenile investigator will follow up.   

THEFT

A resident reported that someone took two bicycles that were locked at a bike rack on Oak Creek Drive between 4 p.m. Aug. 14 and 8 a.m. Aug. 15. One was a 29-inch, white-and-green Mongoose valued at $230, and the other was a 26-inch, 21-speed black Havoc valued at $240. 

WARRANT  

Georgiy G. Shubitidze, 27, of the 600 block of Raupp Blvd., Buffalo Grove, was arrested on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant at 8:20 p.m. Aug. 15 on the 300 block of Dundee Parkway.  

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident reported Aug. 15 that while applying for a job, he found that someone was using his Social Security number. The resident contacted the credit bureaus and the Social Security administration.
