Police Blotter: Cash, Credit Card Taken from Unlocked Car

BURGLARY

A resident of the 200 block of Old Oak Drive reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and removed $600 in cash and a credit card from the unlocked glove box between 3 p.m. Sept. 9 and 7 a.m. Sept. 10. 

COMPLAINT

A complainant reported that when she attempted to move from the right lane into the center lane at 8:55 a.m. Sept. 10 on eastbound Deerfield Parkway at Milwaukee Avenue, another vehicle kept moving forward, not allowing her to make the move. At one point the other driver leaned out of the window and began yelling obscenities and said that he was not allowing her to get into the lane. An officer was unable to obtain a valid phone number for the other driver. 

DECEPTIVE PRACTICES

An owner of a home cleaning service stated that a resident made payment on June 18 with a check that was returned for nonsufficient funds. The owner has been unable to contact the resident.

DUMPING

A company official on the 900 block of East Deerfield Parkway reported that someone dumped trash into the company’s dumpster between Sept. 7-10. The trash included what appeared to be motor oil. An officer made suggestions on deterring such activity. 

FOUND PROPERTY

A resident of the 200 block of St. Mary’s Parkway reported that someone left two children’s bicycles in the bed of a pickup truck parked in the driveway on Sept. 4. Both bikes were placed into property at police headquarters. 

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/VEHICLE

A complainant reported a vehicle with a male occupant was parked at 9 a.m. Sept. 10 at the rear of a building on the 100 block of McHenry Road. The vehicle and occupant appeared out of place. An officer checked and found the vehicle and subject gone. 

A resident of the 800 block of Thornton Lane reported at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 10 that a black Nissan had been driving back and forth for more than 10 minutes. Officers checked the area with negative results.
