Police Blotter: Car Keyed, Kids Walk on Ice

ALCOHOL

Andrea L. Stauble, 42, of the 24300 block of Prairie Grove Drive, was charged with driving under the influence at 6:20 p.m. Jan. 11 on the 100 block of North Buffalo Grove Road.

BATTERY

A resident reported Jan. 10 that her 8-year-old son had been beaten up at school the day before and on numerous other occasions. The boy had a number of fresh bruises, a cut and a scratch. The boy has told his gym teacher. The report has been forwarded to the school resource officer.

A resident reported two youths standing on the ice of a pond on the 100 block of Old Oak Court East at 4 p.m. Jan. 11. An officer spoke with two and they agreed that being on the ice was not a safe thing to do. Their parents were notified. 

A maintenance supervisor on the 100 block of South Buffalo Grove Road reported vandalism and other juvenile-type issues in and around the building on Jan. 11. An officer has initiated an extra watch for the building.

A crossing guard reported that a driver failed to stop when instructed to do so at 3:40 p.m. Jan. 11 at Golfview Terrance and Raupp Boulevard. An officer went to the driver’s home and the resident stated that she thought the crossing guard was waving her through before crossing the kids. The resident apologized for her actions.

DRUGS

Joshua M. Trimble, 19, of the 400 block of Buttercup Lane, Schaumburg, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without taillights at 1:45 a.m. Jan. 12 on eastbound Dundee Road west of Buffalo Grove Road.

FIRE ASSIST 

Buffalo Grove  and  responded to a fire alarm at 2:20 p.m. Jan. 11 on the 1000 block of Johnson Drive. Officers were told that a large machine was on fire and fire personnel put out the blaze. There were no injuries and no structural damage to the building. 

LOST ITEM 

A resident reported that he lost his 4G Blackberry Torch 9810 cellphone on Jan. 11. He was not sure where, but believed it may have been on the Metra train going to Chicago. The phone is valued at $314.98.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident reported Jan. 11 that someone spray painted graffiti on an AT&T phone box on the 800 block of Weidner Road.

A resident of Lake Boulevard reported that someone keyed her car, damaging all four doors, both rear quarter panels and the trunk between 9 p.m. Jan. 10 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 11. The resident told the officer she has no problems with any neighbors and couldn’t provide a possible motive.

THEFT

A resident reported that someone attempted to make an unauthorized charge to his credit card on Jan. 7. Ticketmaster contacted the resident to verify the purchase and when the resident told them that he did not make a purchase, the charge was canceled.
