Police Blotter: Boyfriend Kicks Car as Relationship Ends

ANIMALS

A resident reported that his dog was bitten by a neighbor’s dog on July 29. The neighbor agreed to pay for any vet bills. The incident was reported to the Lake County Health Department.

When a resident returned home on Aug. 1, she found her adult son, who does not live with her, coming out of the garage. She asked the son how he got into her house, and he replied, “through a front window.” After the son left, the resident found that her jewelry was gone and that some of her medications were missing. Complaints will be signed.

A resident of Oak Creek Drive reported loud noises coming from her upstairs neighbor’s unit at 9:55 p.m. Aug. 1. An officer spoke with the upstairs neighbor who stated that her children had been playing loudly and that she would put them to bed.

IDENTITY THEFT 

A resident reported Aug. 2 that since May she has received two letters from credit companies advising her she was denied a line of credit. The resident stated that she did not apply for any credit. The resident has alerted the credit bureaus.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported that she received seven calls between 1 p.m. Aug. 1 and 3:30 p.m. Aug. 2 from an unknown subject who told her about a cash refund. Believing that it was a scam, she hung up. The caller also left a voice message stating that he was with the FBI and was watching her due to scams she was involved in. Caller ID indicated “Unknown.” The caller had what the resident believed to be a Jamaican accent.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident reported that she and her boyfriend got into an argument at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 1 while sitting in a car in the parking lot, and the resident decided to end the relationship. As the boyfriend exited the car, he kicked at it a number of times, causing $647 in damage. An officer attempted to contact the ex-boyfriend and left a voice mail message.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
 

A resident found a broken beer bottle against the rear of her house at 5:25 p.m. Aug. 2. The resident is going through a divorce and believes that her estranged husband or his acquaintance is responsible for the beer bottle. The resident said she has also seen a male subject looking into the windows and over the backyard fence. An officer contacted the husband, who denied being anywhere near the wife’s house.
