Police Blotter: 5 a.m. Deliveries Not Allowed

ATTEMPTED SCAM

A resident reported receiving a fraudulent letter with a United Airlines return address on it on Feb. 9. The letter advised that they were eligible to win free travel tickets. Officers learned the letter was a scam after some research with the Better Business Bureau. 

ORDINANCE VIOLATION

Officers responded to a complaint of a delivery at a business at 5:06 a.m. Feb. 13 on the 400 block of West Half Day Road. Officers contacted the driver of the truck and explained that deliveries should be made after 7 a.m.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported receiving a call on Feb. 12 from someone who stated that they were owed $300 for a pay day loan in New York. The caller was advised a loan was never obtained. Police advised the resident to review his credit report.

THEFT

A complainant reported he left his phone in a store at 2:45 p.m. Feb. 12 on the 200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. When he realized it was missing, he returned to the store and the phone could not be found.
