Have Kids? Learn to Install Car Seats

Buffalo Grove police will conduct free child seat checks and teach citizens to properly install child safety seats on June 27.

Officers from the Buffalo Grove Police Department’s Traffic Unit will host a car seat installation class at 7 p.m. June 27 in the department’s training room.

Certified car seat technicians will give a short training session on how to properly install car seats and will be available to answer any questions. Attendees can get hands-on training with demonstrator seats.

“We’ve done this class in the past and received some great feedback. It’s a great way for us to make sure our residents all have their car seats properly installed, and to help answer any questions people may have about their car seats,” Buffalo Grove Sgt. Mike Rodriguez said. “We also will be able to explain occupant protection laws relating to child passenger safety seats, and provide our own tips on the proper installation of these seats.”
