Apply Now for Citizen Police Academy

Buffalo Grove residents and people who work in the village are invited to participate.

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a police officer? If so, join the Buffalo Grove Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy and find out what it's like to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation, respond to a fight in progress and to search a building for an armed suspect.

The police department is accepting applications for the fall 2013 session. Classes are designed to provide an overview of the various aspects of law enforcement and to give citizens a better understanding of how the police in their community work. This extensive eight-week course will also include a police K-9 demonstration.

The academy is scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 7-10 p.m. beginning Oct. 2 through Nov. 20.
