Rain Cancels One Egg Hunt; Three Others Continue

Saturday morning’s rain caused the cancellation of the ’s , but the wind, cold and rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of egg hunters in Wheeling, where a similar event takes place each year, rain or shine.

The three egg hunts run by the Wheeling Park District, which serves the northeast portion of Buffalo Grove near the Chevy Chase golf course, drew hundreds of children and parents. Many arrived at the 10 a.m. hunt at Childerley Park armed with umbrellas, which parents held over themselves and their children as they collected colorful plastic eggs. The rain held off for the subsequent hunts at Horizon and Pleasant Run parks.
