Power Restoration Underway In Buffalo Grove

Many residents are expected to have electricity back by midnight.

The Village of Buffalo Grove reports that 4,800 ComEd customers in Buffalo Grove remained without power as of 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials have learned that 3,800 customers are expected to have power again by midnight.

Of the 337,000 ComEd customers currently out of service, 193,000 are within the north region, which includes Buffalo Grove, according to a press release from the village. About 900 crews, including some from Florida, have been assigned to assist with restoration efforts.

The priority of restoration continues to be critical facilities such as police stations, fire stations and hospitals, followed by customers out of power in the largest feeder areas, so that hundreds of customers can be restored based on a single work ticket.
