More Road Construction Planned in Buffalo Grove

Roads are under construction by the Illinois Department of Transportation as well as the Lake and Cook county highway departments.

Road patching on Route 83 will limit traffic to one lane in each direction for another two weeks and between Route 22 and Route 45 for the next three to four weeks. The project is being conducted by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

IDOT will soon begin patching portions of Milwaukee Avenue from Route 60 to Route 22, and resurfacing Olde Half Day Road (north of Route 22), from Milwaukee Avenue to Route 22. While IDOT has not provided a specific start date, the project is expected to be performed in the next two to three weeks.

Concrete patching and curb replacement will be performed by the Lake County Department of Transportation on Deerfield Parkway from Milwaukee Avenue to McHenry Road. The project, which could including some patching on Arlington Heights Road, is scheduled for completion on Oct. 1.

Meanwhile, the near is expected to continue into November.

The Village Council should authorize its President to task the police chief to assign one officer to be present at each school affected by road construction. During the peak 20 - 25 minute time frame students arrive at each school in the morning and leave each school in the afternoon, a police officer could prevent and stop the egregious actions that "C-Dub" described on 3-24-2011 --- C-Dub wrote at 12:02pm on Thursday, March 24, 2011, " I sure hope that it is not the same contractor that did the north end of Arlington Hts Rd the last 2 years. The planning and the work was completely unorganized. They had the northbound lanes blocked with dump trucks while they loaded them for a half hour at a time!"

Why is it that all of Columbia Gardens is getting new streets, Curbs & gutters, driveway aprons and Drainage repair except for Linden Ave. This is the forgotten area at the corner of Milwaukee and Lake Cook. They say our road was done a few years ago. Come and take a look at it!
