Lost Sweatshirt? Check at Village Hall

If you lost something on the grounds of Buffalo Grove Days last weekend, it might not be gone for good.

The Buffalo Grove Village Hall has a stash of items — mostly articles of clothing — that were turned in at the fest's information table.

"We've got a sweatshirt and a jacket, and a pair of gloves and a baseball hat," said Carol Lieber, the village's finance clerk.

Other items include a cell phone with a dead battery and one baby shoe, she said.

"Anything that was valuable is at the police department," Deputy Village Clerk Jane Olson added.

By mid-week, those items — mainly working cell phones — had already been claimed, Cmdr. Steve Husak said. "The nice thing about cell phones is you see 'Home' or 'Mom' (programmed in the address book)  and you can call and say that is was found," he said.

To claim a lost item, visit the Buffalo Grove Village Hall from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday or from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
