Long Grove Hosts Series of Holiday Events

The following holiday activities are on tap in Long Grove this season:

• Tree Lighting: A tree lighting ceremony will be held on Nov. 19 at Apple Haus Square. Join Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Humbug from 3-5 p.m. for photo opportunities and watch as they light the tree at 4 p.m. Other live entertainment will be found throughout the village, including Belleek artist Colette Greene signing pieces at the Irish Boutique at noon, the Holiday Jinglers carolers strolling from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and a performance by the Long Grove Performing Arts Academy at 3:30 p.m. in Apple Haus Square. The sounds of Thomas Swenson will be heard at the Beans & Leaves Café.

• Breakfast with Santa: Starting Dec. 4, breakfast with Santa will be offered at 9 a.m. at Seasons of Long Grove and also at the Long Grove Café. Breakfast will be offered every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 18. Reservations are recommended; call 847-634-9150 to reach Seasons or 847-955-9600 to reach the Café. Lunches with Santa will be offered at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Village Tavern. Reserve your spot at 847-634-3117 for this event.

• Carriage Rides: Old-fashioned carriage rides will leave the Village Tavern from 1-4 p.m. on Sundays from Nov. 27 through Dec. 18. Rides are $5 per person.
  
  
• Carolers: The Holiday Jinglers will travel around town from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 26-27 and Dec. 11. The Hersey High School Dickens Carolers will be strolling around town from 2-3 p.m. Dec. 3-4.
  
  
• Music: There will be live entertainment at the Beans & Leaves Café at various times throughout the holiday season, including Long Grove favorites such as Thomas Swenson, Merv Collins, The Impact Quartet, Jazzy Blue, Back Porch Moon, Long Grove Fine Arts Academy, Lake Zurich Bare Voices, Guyz with Bad Eyez, and Tom Bradfish & Kourtney. There will also be a Holiday Sing-Along from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 9.
  
  
• Entertainment: The Nutcracker Tea at the Seasons of Long Grove will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 27 and Dec. 3, 4, 10, 17 and 18. RSVP at 847-634-9150.
  
  
• Dicken’s Dinner: Come to the Seasons of Long Grove for the Dicken’s Dinner at 5 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16. RSVP at 847-634-9150.
