The Forge of Vernon Hills Closes its Doors

The former members-only club has gone out of business less than two years after it opened to the public, according to media reports.

The Forge of Vernon Hills has served its last meal, the Daily Herald reports.

The restaurant, located at 634 S. Milwaukee Ave., failed to pay more than $50,000 in various taxes and had its liquor license revoked by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, according to the newspaper.

The Forge opened its dining room to the public in April 2012, according to TribLocal. Before that, the establishment was a members-only club for many years.
