what an absolute slime ball - hope his new wife gets the marriage annulled and dumps the jerk. If they do stay together, I hope they both seek out counseling.

Jewel should just be asking whether or not you need help to your vehicle when checking out, just like dominicks does. I usually have my kids along with and I smile and say, "no thank you... this is why I brought them along". I would find a different store if I had someone following me out all the time. I'm sure the employees feel weird doing it too.

I hope the "temporary" becomes permanent.... I cannot stand going to the one in Chicago and the Deerfield one is too far. I liked having it in Niles and MG will be even closer now.

I love the idea of the new cafe opening up. I'd like to see more outdoor eating areas too with these new businesses, making it more friendly to walk up to and enjoy the outdoors while eating during the nicer months. I also think that we need to get rid of the parking meters for these businesses. No one wants to stop and pay for parking for lunch. That has made me to elsewhere myself instead of investing in some of these businesses.

yup, the government believes this government business is too big to close, even if it is against what the people wish. They refuse to listen.

Lets not forget the Evanston Animal Shelter too. Also, if anyone has ever wanted to become a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence, check out their website and apply (we are in the Central Midwest region) at: www.cci.org I'd love to see more puppy raisers in our area.

  • On the article Who Would Kidnap a Therapy Dog? Skokie Woman Charged

Frank, Luigi was a male not female. I'm glad she was caught. I do not understand what is in people's heads that taking something that does not belong to you is ok. I can understand the family of this dog was heartbroken when he was stolen but a 7 month old pup should not be left alone in a vehicle. Way too many things can go wrong. Its just a puppy and like a toddler, it can get into many things in a vehicle that could end its life, especially if not in a carrier or crate of some sort. When initially reading this story, I cringed that this dog was considered a "therapy" dog. I've never heard of a puppy being certified as a therapy dog at that young age. It takes months and months of training. A 7 month old who is still intact would not qualify. I'm sure tho that he is a wonderful pet dog that gives his owner and the children unconditional love that they need and deserve. If I'm wrong and this was a pup that was certified, I apologize but I'd sure like to know the group that certified him. Again, I'm glad this person was caught and I hope she truly reforms and no longer steals again. It will take many years now to recover and be able to get a job with this on her background check. Stupid decision on her part that will cost her now for a long long time.

I'd love to see some sort of family entertainment going there. Some place like Game Works but without the alcohol.

Marijuana should NOT be made legal! Its just as destructive as alcohol, especially to teens. If there was a way to guarantee that a person does not get behind the wheel of a vehicle when on drugs or alcohol, I'd be more willing to re-think that then. But there is enough teens out there already drinking and driving and killing people, including themselves. We dont need to increase it. And lets say it does get legalized, what age would be appropriate in your mind...18, 21? That hasnt stopped the underage drinking. Making pot legal will just increase the amount of underage drug users because it will be more readily available to them, it will be at 7-11's, etc just like cigarrettes and alcohol is. Medical science will come up with something for cancer patients I'm sure that will be just as effective if not better than pot. For right now, I'm willing to listen to legalizing it just for med use only but there has to be a way of regulating it so that it only gets to the med patients and not their teens in their homes or others that should not have it.

  • On the article Patch Flash: IL House OKs Drivers Licenses for Undocumented Immigrants

This is so stupid. Why do these people actually think that by allowing the "illegals" to have drivers licences, that they will actually get insurance? They are ILLEGAL!!!! If they wanted to do things legally to begin with they would have started out that way and would have come into this country legally.
