Operated by the Deerfield Area Historical Society, the Deerfield Historic Village is an outdoor museum that features five buildings of historic interest.

Highlights include the 1837 Caspar Ott log house; Lake County's oldest surviving building. The Village also includes other vintage buildings such as a schoolhouse, carriage house, farmhouse and visitor center.

With the look of a 19th century prairie village, the Historic Village is a fun and interactive way to learn about Deerfield's history.

Call ahead for information relating to group tours.

The Deerfield Area Historical Society is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of our community.  The Society receives no tax support and relies on memberships and donations.  We currently maintain the five historic buildings at the Historic Village, provide educational activities for local 4th graders and offer events and programs to the community.

We are looking for new members, donations, suggestions and volunteers.
