Brunswick Plan Changes, Advances in Buffalo Grove

Tweaked plan, which includes a more upscale experience, will soon be reviewed by the Plan Commission.

Plans for Brunswick to take over the eSkape Entertainment Center moved a bit closer Monday night, when Brunswick representatives unveiled their latest proposal.  Brunswick not only wants to bring its brand to Buffalo Grove; the company is now under contract to purchase the eSkape building, which is owned by Inland McHenry Road LLC. The company had originally planned to lease the space and convert it into a Brunswick Zone XL. Officials said this week that they now intend to introduce an even more upscale facility, branded simply as Brunswick’s. Plans include expanding the existing patio to create an outdoor beer garden with a fire pit. Brunswick Still Plans to Open Buffalo Grove Facility

A deal with eSkape has not been completed, but officials say plans for a Brunswick Zone XL remain in the works.

Brunswick’s plans to take over Buffalo Grove’s eSkape are behind the original schedule, but the company still plans to open an entertainment complex in the village.  “We’re still working very hard to complete the transaction. The goal of Brunswick is still to become a member of Buffalo Grove,” Mike Long, Brunswick’s vice president for service, construction and real estate, told Patch this week.  Brunswick presented plans last August to purchase eSkape Entertainment Center and convert it into a Brunswick Zone XL. The Heat Is On

Buffalo Grove-area organizations see the effects of 90-degree temperatures.

With temperatures projected to remain above 90 degrees this week, Buffalo Grove businesses and organizations are seeing firsthand the effects of the heat wave. “We’re selling a lot more fans and Gatorade, and a lot more ice, too,” Paul Lievhart, manager of the Walgreens at the corner of Buffalo Grove and Lake-Cook roads, said Monday. “Everything that you can drink in aisle eight, such as juice and water, is just going out the door.” Lievhart noted that customers are also purchasing items in bulk, such as 24-packs of bottled water. Binny’s Beverage Depot has also seen a shift in product sales. A customer service manager noted that margaritas, water and mixers are big sellers.
