Stevenson's World's Fair to Celebrate Diverse Cultures

The community is invited to attend this free event, which runs Saturday and Sunday at the high school.

Community members are invited to experience cultures from around the world this weekend, when Stevenson High School's Diversity Council hosts its annual World's Fair. The event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 2 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 3, will highlight the cultures and cuisines of different countries. Admission is free and open to the public. The event will take place in the Forum and Wood Commons of the West Building. A cultural entertainment showcase in the Performing Arts Center closes the event at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Stevenson’s World’s Fair Serves Taste of Different Cultures

Five hundred students, 24 clubs taught lessons in diversity last weekend.

Students hawked Philippine pansit, Iranian rice, escargot and empanadas while others wore colorful Japanese robes and traditional South African shirts Saturday and Sunday when Stevenson High School staged its annual World’s Fair. As many as 500 students representing 24 clubs set up booths in the common areas of the school’s west building to sell food, jewelry and crafts from various cultures represented at the school, said Greg Diethrich, lead counsel of the Stevenson Diversity Council, which sponsored the fair. “This is their biggest event of the year. Celebrate Diversity at Stevenson's World’s Fair

The community is invited to attend this event, which will raise awareness while supporting charity.

The Stevenson High School Diversity Council's annual celebration of countries and culture, World’s Fair, will be held Jan. 28 and 29. Admission is free and open to the public. The event runs in the Forum and Wood Commons of the West Building each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an entertainment showcase in the Performing Arts Center from 3 to 4 p.m. both days. The two-day celebration seeks to increase knowledge, understanding and appreciation of other countries and cultures. The event also promotes diversity and celebrates the cultures that make up the Stevenson community. World’s Fair also offers a chance for Stevenson students to showcase either a country of their own heritage, or simply a culture in which they have some interest. …
