Broker associates at Buffalo Grove's RE/MAX Experts recently received special recognition from the RE/MAX Northern Illinois region for their sales success in 2012. They have been named to membership in one of five honorary clubs, each recognizing an important level of achievement in sales production. Chairman’s Club RE/MAX associates qualify as Chairman’s Club members thanks to annual sales achievements that place them among the industry’s most successful professionals. Two local professionals were honored for 25 years of service.
RE/MAX recently presented its Pioneer Club award to broker associates in its northern Illinois real estate network. The award recognizes those who have reached their 25thanniversary with RE/MAX. Among the honorees were Lyn Fairlamb and DeAnn Glover, both of Buffalo Grove's RE/MAX Experts. "It is not uncommon for real estate professionals to work for a variety of companies during their career. Twenty-five years spent with one organization represent a significant commitment and reflect continued satisfaction with the professional environment," RE/MAX Northern Illinois said in a press release.

Propelled by strong condominium sales in Cook County, attached homes led the metro Chicago real estate market to its most active December since 2006, according to RE/MAX. Combined sales of attached and detached homes in the seven-county metro area were up 20 percent to 7,281 units when compared to the same month last year. Sales of attached homes rose 23 percent to 2,661 units. The median sales price for all homes sold in December was 5.5 percent higher than in December 2011, reaching $153,000, while the median sales price for attached homes climbed 7.5 percent to $123,600. Home sales in the seven-county metropolitan Chicago real estate market followed a familiar path in August, with more homes changing hands more quickly, according to an analysis by RE/MAX. August sales of detached and attached homes reached a combined total of 9,145 units, which is a robust 26.5 percent higher than in the same month in 2011 and the highest August sales total since 2007. The pace of sales also quickened. The average number of days that homes sold in August spent on the market before a sales contract was signed declined from 165 days a year ago to 139 days this August, the lowest market time for the metro area in any month since December 2007. Home sales in the seven-county metropolitan Chicago real estate market continued to show improvement in two important respects, according to an analysis by RE/MAX. Sales of detached and attached homes increased 29 percent in July, compared to the same month in 2011, with a total of 8,490 homes changing hands. At the same time, the average number of days that homes sold in July spent on the market before a sales contract was signed fell to 141 days from 166 days a year ago. That 141 day average is the lowest recorded for the metro market during any month since December 2007.
