This Mother’s Day, I’d like to thank my mom for doing so much more than getting me to basketball practice on time.

Whenever I pass a football game or a baseball game, I am almost always amazed with the number of supportive parents on the sidelines cheering on their kids. Regardless if it’s cold with blistering winds or scorching hot, the parents are there, praising the players. These scenes remind me of my time in grade school as a student athlete — excuse me, “athlete,” as my sub-par skills meant the only thing I could offer was a warm body to fill out a roster — and the countless hours my mother spent chauffeuring me to games and practices. My own children will start school in a few years and will likely join activities like sports, newspaper, theater, or dance. What are you doing this Sunday?

Although every day should be Mother's Day, the official day to honor Moms is this Sunday. I hope your family goes all out to celebrate and make you feel special.  Do you have any Mother's Day Traditions? Brunch? Massage? Breakfast in Bed? My Mother's Day Tradition involves brunch and gardening. It's the day that we buy flowers and I plant them in the yard with the kids. For the past couple of years, we've done brunch.
