Court Records to be Computer Accessible

The Lake County Board has approved a new E-filing system that will allow residents to access court records via the Internet.

The public will soon be able to remotely access basic Lake County court information free of charge from a computer, providing them with greater ease of use and efficiency. Circuit Court Clerk Keith S. Brin recently made a presentation to the Lake County Board on the new E-filing program, which includes public access and electronic filing. The county board approved about $1 million for the project, which is funded with court fees. The new system creates a seamless, efficient, user-friendly connection between the courts and those utilizing the courts. Updated: Stone Arrested After Violating Order of Protection

Former Buffalo Grove trustee Lisa Stone was arrested on a warrant Friday alleging that she violated an order of protection requested by her stepmother.

Former Buffalo Grove trustee Lisa Stone was arrested Friday by Mundelein police for violating an order of protection. Stone’s stepmother requested an emergency order of protection on behalf of herself and Stone’s father on Feb. 7, according to documentation obtained by Patch. The couple live in Mundelein. “For the past two weeks Lisa has called every other day, harassing me and threatening me,” Barbara Shuman detailed in the complaint. “I fear that her behavior is escalating and I am afraid/terrified that she will show up at my house and hurt me and/or my husband,” she continued.  Stone said the complaint stemmed in part from disagreements with her stepmother regarding the care of her father. Lake County Gets New Family Courtroom

New courtroom aims to make family cases more efficient, less stressful.

“On behalf of the members of the Lake County Board and the judges of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, I am pleased to announce the completion of the construction of an additional courtroom located on the first floor of the courthouse,” said Chief Judge Fred Foreman. “The courtroom, known as Courtroom C-102, is a family courtroom that will provide much needed additional space to hear family matters and help expedite the process of handling family cases.”  “The opening of new Courtroom C-102 follows on the heels of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Family Division’s recent implementation of a trial call system. Updated: Man Arrested at Lake County Courthouse

Evanston man arrested after causing disturbance while attempting to file paperwork with the circuit court clerk.

Employees at the Lake County Circuit Court Clerk's Office hit the panic button Wednesday when an Evanston man caused a disturbance by refusing to provide his ID while attempting to file paperwork. Lee Fainman, 37, of the 1300 block of Oak in Evanston, was arrested by the Lake County Sheriff's Office at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday and charged with obstructing a peace officer and disorderly conduct, according to a sheriff's department press release. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Court Security Division received a panic alarm from the Circuit Clerks Office located at 18 N County St. in Waukegan. Found Guilty, Man Attempts Escape at Lake County Courthouse

A Lake County Sheriff's Deputy was hurt in the struggle to capture escapee.

Following a guilty verdict on drug charges, a Zion man attempted to escape from the Lake County courtroom on Nov. 29, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.  On Nov. 29, at 4:15 p.m. Keevan Fullwiley, 35, of the 2300 Block of 33rd St in Zion was found guilty in courtroom C220 by a jury on the charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis, according to the news release. Following the verdict, Judge Christopher Stride ordered the defendant to be taken in to custody by the Lake County Sheriff.  The defendant jumped from his chair and attacked a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy in an attempt to flee the courtroom, accoridng to the news release.  The …
