Jennifer Maltas was welcomed to Buffalo Grove with a public reception Monday night.
Buffalo Grove’s new deputy village manager was welcomed Monday with a public reception at Village Hall. The event, which was attended by village officials and a number of active community volunteers, was held just before the Village Board meeting. Monday was also the first day on the job for Jennifer Maltas, who attended the board meeting in her official capacity. “She went through a very difficult process in being chosen as our deputy village manager,” said Village President Jeff Braiman. Maltas replaces Ghida Neukirch, who stepped down last summer.

Residents are invited to meet Buffalo Grove's new deputy village manager at an open house scheduled from 7-7:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at Village Hall. The new hire, Jennifier Maltas, will begin work in Buffalo Grove that day. She replaces Ghida Neukirch, who resigned last summer. The Village Board will meet at 7:30 p.m., immediately following the reception.

Buffalo Grove will gain a new full-time deputy village manager this month. The village announced this week that Jennifer Maltas will assume the position Jan. 21. Maltas, who currently serves as assistant to the village manager in Deerfield, was selected from more than 125 candidates. “There was an extraordinary pool of candidates but Ms. Maltas consistently demonstrated a high level of expertise and professionalism throughout the interview process. We look forward to her arrival in Buffalo Grove,” Village Manager Dane Bragg said in a statement.
