Nominations are being accepted for the Buffalo Grove Area Chamber of Commerce's 2013 awards.
The Buffalo Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is once again looking for nominations of members of the community that care. The 2013 Heart of Buffalo Grove Awards will be awarded to community volunteers and caring individuals in the following categories — Community, Senior and Youth Volunteer awards, a Teach & Inspire award and awards for Business Philanthropy, going "Above and Beyond" and a group award, Together We Can. The Heart of Buffalo Grove Awards will be presented at a Celebration Gala Event on Nov. 23 at the Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove. A number of Buffalo Grove area residents and business owners were honored this month for for their dedication and service to the Buffalo Grove community. The Buffalo Grove Area Chamber of Commerce presented its second annual Heart of Buffalo Grove awards Nov. 10 at a ceremony held at the Arboretum Club. The event, which was co-sponsored by Buffalo Grove Bank & Trust, was attended by more than 200 village officials, residents and chamber members. The 2012 Heart of Buffalo Grove Award recipients include: Jerod Loeb is member of the Fire and Police Commission. He has been a Buffalo Grove Fire Department volunteer since 1998, is a graduate of the Buffalo Grove Citizens Fire Academy (inaugural class), assisted with the MDA Boot Drive for the …

The Buffalo Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and co-sponsor Buffalo Grove Bank & Trust hosted the Heart of Buffalo Grove awards ceremony Nov. 19. Award recipients included: Linda Rosen, Above & Beyond award Rosen serves as the president of the Buffalo Grove Arts Commission, which oversees the Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival, the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band and its offshoot, the Jazz Band, and many public art projects. She is also the director of the BG Singers and the Encore ensemble. Rosen previously chaired the Buffalo Grove Park District's Performing Arts Council and has participated in many community focus groups.
