Buffalo Grove Man Honored for Life-Saving Measures

Rich Rossi was among the people who saved the life of fitness center patron Gary Greenberg in September.

A Buffalo Grove resident has been credited with saving another man's life while at work at Bannockburn’s Midtown Athletic Club. Rich Rossi, an athletic trainer, sprang into action when Highland Park resident Gary Greenberg suffered a heart attack while working out, according to the Daily Herald.  Rossi and other rescuers were recently honored by the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Department and Midtown Athletic Club for their life-saving efforts, the Chicago Tribune reported. They used an automated external defibrillator to resuscitate Greenberg. Rossi was also honored by the American Heart Association, the Herald reported.
