Amy Choi of Buffalo Grove was among those honored on the Lewis University Deans' List for fall semester 2012. Choi is studying mathematics. To be eligible for this honor, students must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit with a grade point average of 3.25 out of a possible 4.0.

Ajay Kumra of Buffalo Grove, was named to the fall 2012 semester Dean's List at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Kumra, who is majoring in biology, was among 1,414 honorees. To be named to the Dean's List, a full-time undergraduate student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0, or midway between an "A" and "B" average.

Daniel Auerbach of Buffalo Grove has been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Fall 2012. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Augustana College fall term Dean's List Two Buffalo Grove residents were named to the fall 2012 Dean's List at Augustana College. Brandon Motzel, a first-year student, and Courtney Poders, a sophomore, were recognized for maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Founded in 1860, Augustana College is a selective four-year residential college of the liberal arts and sciences. Augustana is recognized for the innovative program Augie Choice, which provides each student up to $2,000 to pursue a high-impact learning experience such as study abroad, an internship or research with a professor. Two Buffalo Grove residents were among more than 800 students from Butler University who made the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester. Matthew Handler, majoring in exploratory, business and Kelly Mahoney, majoring in pre-pharmacy, earned the honor for having grade-point averages in the top 20 percent of their respective colleges. Butler University, located in Indianapolis, enrolls more than 4,600 undergraduate and graduate students in six academic colleges: Arts, Business, Communication, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

John Shim of Buffalo Grove, a second-year student in Rochester Institute of Technology's National Technical Institute for the Deaf, made the Dean's List for the fall 2012 quarter. Rochester Institute of Technology is internationally recognized for academic leadership in computing, engineering, imaging science, sustainability, and fine and applied arts, in addition to unparalleled support services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. RIT enrolls 17,500 full- and part-time students in more than 200 career-oriented and professional programs, and its cooperative education program is one of the oldest and largest in the nation.

Alan Marlowe was named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2012 semester at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Marlowe is a sophomore in the Aerospace Engineering program at Embry-Riddle’s campus in Prescott, AZ. He is the son of Craig and Debbie Marlowe of Buffalo Grove. He attended Stevenson High School.
