Buffalo Grove High School's state championship winning cheerleading team was honored this week by the Buffalo Grove Village Board.
The accolades continued this week for Buffalo Grove High School's varsity cheerleading team. The team, which earned the state cheerleading title in February, was honored by the Buffalo Grove Village Board. The cheerleaders, who arrived in uniform and wearing their state medals, received a certificate and a golden buffalo pin from village officials. "You should be very, very proud of what you've accomplished in the championship," Village President Jeff Braiman told the team. The accolades aren’t over for Buffalo Grove High School’s cheerleaders, who placed first in state on Feb. 3. The Village of Buffalo Grove and School District 214 have announced plans to publicly recognize the co-ed varsity team at upcoming board meetings. Cheers for the team began almost immediately after it clenched the state title. The cheerleaders were featured on a WGN news broadcast on Feb. 5, a day after they were honored with an all-school assembly.
