An 81-year-woman from Buffalo Grove caused a four car accident at the intersection of Crawford Avenue and Dempster Street in Skokie on Sunday, police said.
An 81-year-old Buffalo Grove woman was hospitalized after causing a four car crash at the intersection of Dempster Street and Crawford Avenue on Sunday around 4 p.m., police said. A stoplight at the southeast corner of the intersection was also knocked down as a result of the crash. According to police, the woman was heading southbound on Crawford Avenue when she ran a red light, causing her to hit a vehicle in front of her. She then hit a stoplight at the northwest corner of the intersection. The driver then lost control of her vehicle and went across east and westbound traffic, hitting two other vehicles in the process. Traffic was rerouted Friday morning after a four-car accident at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 15 at the intersection of Lake-Cook and Buffalo Grove roads.
Two people were hospitalized and roads were shut down Friday morning (Feb. 15) after a driver collided with a funeral procession at the intersection of Lake-Cook and Buffalo Grove roads. A man driving a Honda CRV, heading north on Buffalo Grove Road, crashed into a Toyota Camry that was in the middle of a funeral procession headed west on Lake-Cook Road, Buffalo Grove Police Cpl. Tom Dattilo said. “After those two collided, the CRV continued north and collided with two cards stopped in traffic, going southbound,” Dattilo said. A passenger in the Honda CRV and one of the drivers stopped on southbound Buffalo Grove Road were transported to Northwest Community Hospital, he said. Lake-Cook Road was closed for about two hours Saturday afternoon.
Buffalo Grove firefighters/paramedics extricated two drivers from their cars Saturday afternoon after a head-on crash at Lake-Cook Road and Raupp Boulevard, the Arlington Cardinal reported. Lake-Cook was closed in both directions around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, residents told Buffalo Grove Patch, and some traffic was rerouted for a couple of hours through the Old Buffalo Grove neighborhood. Both drivers were taken to the hospital, according to the Arlington Cardinal. Lake-Cook was reopened just before 3 p.m.

CBS reports that the yellow Lamborghini that has gained fame on YouTube after making a quick turn and crashing between two oncoming cars was traveling on westbound Palatine Road in Wheeling just before the accident. Witnesses captured the crash, which CBS said occurred Sunday, on video and posted it to YouTube, where it has been viewed more than 3.4 million times.

Dundee Road, after jumping a cement parking barrier and crossing the sidewalk. “The driver told the officer she was turning into a parking space with her foot on the brake when the car accelerated,” Buffalo Grove Police Cmdr. One driver was cited in two-car accident March 28 at Route 83 and Arlington Heights Road.
No one was seriously injured in a two-car accident that culminated with a light pole falling onto one of the vehicles Wednesday night in Buffalo Grove. Buffalo Grove Police Cpl. Tony Goldstein said the accident occurred at 5:45 p.m., when a driver heading west on Route 83 turned left on a yellow light onto Arlington Heights Road. A driver on eastbound Route 83 struck the vehicle as it turned, Goldstein said. The eastbound driver spun out and struck a light pole, which toppled onto the car, he said. “Nobody was hurt, per say, but one of the drivers did go to the hospital just to be checked out,” Goldstein said. Route 83 was closed for several hours Wednesday after a driver crashed into a ComEd pole near Pauline Avenue.
Route 83 was closed for about six hours Wednesday after a vehicle drove off the road and struck a utility pole near Pauline Avenue. The pole “was leaning at a pretty precarious angle,” Buffalo Grove Deputy Police Chief Steve Husak said. The road was closed around 2 p.m. between Lake-Cook and Buffalo Grove roads until ComEd crews could repair the pole, which Buffalo Grove police feared might topple over completely. Route 83 reopened around 8 p.m., Husak said. Husak said he was not sure what caused the driver to leave the road, and said no serious injuries were reported.
