The shoe store will relocate from the Cambridge Commons shopping center to another Buffalo Grove site.
Rogan's Shoes will soon have a new home. The store, which currently anchors the Cambridge Commons shopping center, will relocate to the former Arlington Academy beauty school site in the Strathmore Square shopping center. The Village of Buffalo Grove issued a demolition permit last month, followed by an April 2 permit for the store to remodel the building. Work is already in progress; construction tools and a vehicle are visible through the store's windows. The store is also expected to request approval for facade improvements, Village Manager Dane Bragg said. A Rogan's Shoes employee said Monday via the store's Facebook fan page that the store will likely relocate in June. The move comes as the owner of the Cambridge Commons shopping …

An economic incentive agreement details how sales tax will be divided between Buffalo Grove and the developer.
The redevelopment of Cambridge Commons is drawing nearer, after Buffalo Grove officials approved an economic incentive agreement Monday that details how sales tax revenue will be allocated. “We would anticipate some construction taking place in the coming weeks,” said Anne Marie Gaura, Buffalo Grove’s interim deputy village manager. Redevelopment plans include Fresh Farms replacing Rogan’s Shoes as the anchor store. Under the economic incentive agreement, Buffalo Grove will collect the first $85,000 in local sales tax generated by the grocery store. Many business have left the shopping center since its owner announced redevelopment plans this summer.
The Cambridge Commons shopping center has nearly emptied in recent weeks, as its owner prepares to redevelop it with a grocery store as the new anchor. Vacant storefronts remain where Pho U, Chaihanna, Cambridge Cleaners and Tailors, and other businesses once operated. Cash for Gold is the only Cambridge Commons business that has applied with the village to relocate, said Village Manager Dane Bragg. The operation has moved to 80 W. Dundee Road. A sign in Pho U’s window tells customers that the restaurant closed Sept. 30 and that it will post on Yelp “if we open at another location.” At Chaihanna, a sign instructs people to watch its Facebook page "for any future updates.” Currently, only Rogan’s Shoes, Little Caesar’s and Illinois Dental…

Plans include renovations to the interior and exterior of the shopping center, which would be anchored by Fresh Farms.
A new grocery store could be on its way to Buffalo Grove, under a developer’s proposal to bring Fresh Farms International Market to the Cambridge Commons shopping center at the southeast corner of Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads. Nick Vittore, the developer and owner of the shopping center, presented plans to gut the interior of Cambridge Commons, currently anchored by Rogan’s Shoes, and give it a new brick façade. He plans to move Fresh Farms into the 30,000-square-foot anchor spot. The reconfigured space would allow space for two additional tenants, Vittore said. Rogan’s Shoes would move to a reconfigured 10,000-square-foot store at the west end of the shopping center, he said. Other current Cambridge Commons tenants include a dry …
