Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg isn’t wasting a minute of shopping time on Black Friday. Doors will open at midnight and all stores will be open, spokeswoman Carol Vesely said. In addition to Black Friday sales at the individual stores, the mall is offering a couple of extra holiday promotions. The first 250 pajama-clad adults who enter through Door 1 at midnight will receive a $20 Woodfield Mall American Express gift card as well as a Santa hat. Door 1 is located on the lower level of the JCPenney wing, near Subway and Santa’s Treasure Chest. Early morning shoppers can also qualify for a free shopping tote. If you have a black belt in Black Friday shopping, listen up: area big-box retailers are gearing up to dazzle bargain hunters even earlier this year —starting on Thanksgiving Day! Last week, Walmart announced that it would open its doors at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22 and offer holiday doorbusters while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39. Not to be outdone, Target and Best Buy are also planning all-out holiday shopping assaults.
