The Illinois treasurer’s online unclaimed property auction began Dec. 5 and runs through 6 p.m. Dec. 11. “We are auctioning off 15,256 pieces of unclaimed property in the Illinois treasurer’s online unclaimed property auction because the rightful owners have not come forward to claim the items in more than five years,” State Treasurer Dan Rutherford said in a prepared statement. “We have a wide variety of interesting items to sell in this auction. You’ll find anything from coins and antique jewelry to old baseball cards—there’s something that appeals to everyone.” All items for sale have been appraised by an outside vendor. The second annual Stevenson High School Online Auction will be held from 9 a.m. Oct. 28 through 9 p.m. Nov. 7. The auction by the Stevenson High School Foundation is a collaborative partnership with the Band and Color Guard Parents Organization, Bravo! theater boosters, Choral Guild, National Honor Society, Orchestra Parents Association, Patriot Parent Association, Special Education Community Board and Sports Boosters. Auction proceeds will benefit each of the groups' essential support of student needs and activities. The District 214 Community Education Foundation will host an online auction from Nov. 25 to Dec. 5. Run through eBay Giving Works, auction items will include sporting event tickets, romantic getaways, hotel stays, golf packages, and packages to local hotspots in the Chicagoland area.
