Snow Cancels Feb. 26 After-School Activities, Sparks Early Closures

Find out which buildings are closing early today and where after-school activities have been canceled.

District 96 All after-school and evening activities have been canceled at District 96 schools today (Feb. 26) due to weather conditions, the district announced at 1 p.m. Twin Groves and Woodlawn middle school students will be dismissed 10 minutes early to give buses extra time to return to the kindergarten and elementary schools for regular dismissal at 3 p.m., an email from the district stated. District 21 All District 21 after-school activities have been canceled, according to the district's website. Programs such as Clubhouse, CAP and Children-in-Action will remain open. Buffalo Grove Districts Cancel After-School Activities

Thursday's weather and worsening road conditions has led to the cancellation of after-school programs in some districts, while others will continue their scheduled activities.

Weather conditions this afternoon (Feb. 7) have caused a number of area schools to cancel their after-school activities. In School District 96, students will be dismissed at the end of the school day. Buses will run on regular schedules, according to an email from the district. The same is true in District 102. "Because there are no late buses, students must be picked up by a parent or guardian or go home on the regular bus," the district's website states. All activities have also been canceled in School District 21, a staff member confirmed to Patch. At Stevenson High School, the girls gymnastics sectional and incoming freshmen course selection will take place as scheduled. All other after-school activities have been canceled, and there …
