I am proposing that we set a clear timetable for these updates with the goal of comparing our guidelines with the most recent version of the Americans with Disabilities Act and determining where Illinois wishes to mirror the federal law and where we wish to be more…

As parents we should all be concerned about head injuries in any sport. Rep. Sente should be encouraged to continue this discission and move forward to protect all our children from over zealous coaches bent on winning at all cost. Letters to the Editor

Mathias Looks Ahead After Election Day Defeat

Letter to the editor

I want to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has entrusted in me the ability to serve in so many different capacities.    Beginning as a member of the Buffalo Grove Zoning Board of Appeals almost 30 years ago, I volunteered to "give back" to our community and to demonstrate to our two young sons the importance of community service. After that, I was privileged to serve as Buffalo Grove Village Trustee, Buffalo Grove Village President, and Illinois State Representative for both the 51st and 53rd districts for the past 14 years.  We have all seen many changes in our community. Thirty-two years ago when our family moved here, our exceptional schools and community services were beginning to develop plans for growth and …

Very gracious Sid, and we want to thank you for all of your time that you have put in in our behalf. You have done an excellent job, with the highest level of integrity. I don't think that there is any doubt that you would still be in office, had it not been for the redistricting. We hope to have the benefit of your abilities again sometime in the future. Thank you.   more ›
