Services Scheduled for Marsha Helfer

A graveside service will be held Monday in Arlington Heights.

Marsha Helfer (nee Tukel), 66, of Buffalo Grove died May 11. She was the devoted mother of Carrie (Jack) Goldberg and Jason (Jennifer Nass) Helfer and proud grandmother of Ben, Hannah, Charlie, Eli and Toby. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. May 13 at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Rd. (Sec. lll Ramah), Arlington Heights.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to American Cancer Society or Yad Vashem. Arrangements are being handled by Chicago Jewish Funerals – Buffalo Grove Chapel.

Margaret Marlewski, 85, of Crystal Lake; Owned Buffalo Grove General Store

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Margaret Marlewski died February 2, 2013, peacefully from complications of Alzheimer's disease at the age of 85. Margaret was the beloved wife of Raymond A. Marlewski, dearly loved mother of Debbie, Marie, Bonnie and Pam, and grandmother of Garret and Katie. Margaret was born in Ireland and immigrated to the Chicago area as a young woman, met Raymond in the church choir, married and raised four children together before retiring to Sun City, Arizona. The couple owned the Buffalo Grove General Store for many years in Buffalo Grove. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations to an Alzheimer's charity would be appreciated.

Buffalo Grove resident will be remembered at Wednesday service.

A service will be held April 17 for Buffalo Grove resident Beatrice Azriel, (nee Sapoznick) 81. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Marvin; loving mother of Elyce (Aryeh) Azriel, Phillip (Karen) Azriel and the late Louis Azriel; adored daughter-in-law of Laura Azriel (Howard Prager); proud grandmother of Leora, Yaniv, Brian, Jim (Christy), Adam, Annie, Ben and Jacob Azriel, and Hillary and Jordan Prager; dear sister of the late Burton (Kathryn and the late Phyllis) Sapoznick; and cherished sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend of many. The service will begin at 11 a.m. April 17 at Temple Chai, with interment in Shalom. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her memory to Temple Chai. Elaine Dauer, nee Barach, 78, died April 11. The Long Grove resident was the devoted mother of Steven (Nancy), Ira (Robert McCormick), Scott (Joal) Dauer and Debbie (Adam) Rootberg; loving grandmother of Phillip Dauer, Dr. Liz Dauer, Ari Rootberg, Joshua Rootberg and Jami (Baruch) Caballero; and dear "sister" of LaDonna Rotman. A service will be held at 10 a.m. April 15 at Chicago Jewish Funerals, Buffalo Grove. Interment will follow in Waldheim, gate 300 on Harlem Ave., Forest Park. A service will be held April 7 for Buffalo Grove resident Beryl L. Margulies, 80. Beryl was the beloved wife of Martin for nearly 60 years; the devoted mother of Steven Margulies and Susan Vallese; proud and loving Bubby of Nickolas, Rebecca and Miranda Vallese; fond aunt of Fred (Tami) and Don Lubin; and dear sister of the late Paul (Shirlee) Lubin. The service will begin at noon at Chicago Jewish Funerals in Buffalo Grove. Interment will be in Montefiore Cemetery, Fox Chase, Penn. Stevenson Community Mourns Dana Kingsley

Friends are finding ways to remember sophomore Dana Kingsley, who died Saturday.

The Stevenson High School community is mourning the loss of sophomore Dana Kingsley, 15, who died Saturday. A Facebook page was created the same day in Dana’s memory. “Dana was such a sweet and kind young woman. This page is a place for those to remember her, and also for suicide awareness,” the page says. As of Monday morning, it had attracted more than 11,000 fans. “No words can express this loss. Today is such a tragic day. Dana was such a beautiful and sweet girl. She will never be forgotten. She will always be in our hearts. We have lost such a great friend, but heaven has a gained a wonderful angel. ♥,” wrote an administrator of the page. Services Scheduled for Jerry Dressler

Visitation will be held March 28 in Lake Zurich.

Visitation for Jerome P. “Jerry” Dressler, 74, of Wauconda, formerly of Buffalo Grove, will be held March 28 from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Dressler family will have a private burial April 1 at St. Mary Cemetery in Buffalo Grove. Jerome was born Oct. 3, 1938 in Chicago, and he passed away suddenly, March 24 at home in Wauconda. He was a Minister of Care to the Sick for the Archdiocese of Chicago, and a member of St. Mary Church in Buffalo Grove. Obituary: James John Lellman of Buffalo Grove

James John Lellman live courageously with ALS, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Visitation will be held Thursday, and a funeral on Friday.

James John Lellman was born on August 24, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Gordon and Phyllis (nee Schilling) Lellman. He died Monday, March 18, 2013 comfortably at his home, surrounded by his loving family, in Buffalo Grove. Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a Computer Analyst for Health Care Services Corporation in Waukegan. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Real Bearded Santas. He owned and operated "The Computer Guy" out of his home.  Jim loved to spend time with his family and was loved by all. James is survived by his spouse Jane, whom he married on May 4, 1974 in Aurora; children, James D. Lellman, Sasha Jane (Christopher) Lysy, Sarah Beth Lellman, and Joseph L. Lellman; …

Obituary: Beatrice Jost

Services have been scheduled for Beatrice Jost of Prairie View.

Beatrice Jost (nee Blocks), of Prairie View, passed away March 8 at Highland Park Hospital. Beatrice was born April 16, 1929 in Wheeling to Leo and Isabell Blocks. Bea married Ed Jost on April 23, 1949 at St. Mary's Church in Buffalo Grove. She worked in the Stevenson High School cafeteria for many years and was known for her famous chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed the outdoors whether cycling (motor and bike), snowmobiling or RV’ing with her family. Beatrice enjoyed following the Cubs and Blackhawks but being with her grandchildren, watching them play sports or perform music made her the most proud. A service will be held Feb. 24 for Lilly Landesman, nee Kaufmann, 87, of Buffalo Grove. She was the beloved wife of the late Eric Landesman; devoted mother of Eva (Dr. Robert) Egel and Peter (Linda Ungar) Landesman; proud grandmother of Sarah and Mark Landesman, Susan (Tom) Urban, Bradley (Jody) Egel and Martin (Laura) Egel; and cherished great-grandmother of eight. The service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 North Buffalo Grove Road. Interment will be in Shalom Memorial Park.
